Southern Invitational Choral Conference Presents Showcase and Honor Choir Concerts

The University of Southern Mississippi’s (USM) School of Music and Choral Activities presents the concerts of the 16th annual Southern Invitational Choral Conference (SICC): the Showcase Concert and the Honor Choir Concert on Sept. 23 and 24 respectively at various times and locations. Both events are free and open for all to attend.

SICC kicks off the two-day long festivities with the Showcase Concert on Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus.

“Diverse and entertaining, the Showcase Concert spotlights our talented students,” said Associate Director of Choral Activities Dr. Jonathan Kilgore.

Then on Sept. 24, SICC will present the Honor Choir Concert at 3:30 p.m. in Hattiesburg’s Main Street Baptist Church. The event will feature more than 700 high school and community college singers from throughout the southeast.

These concerts are part of the annual Southern Invitational Choral Conference at USM, which provides students the opportunity to take part in intense rehearsals and high-quality performances, while meeting fellow musicians from all over the Southeast.
