DSA NEW STAFF ORIENTATION

Welcome to the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) at Southern Miss! We’re glad you’re here to help us develop healthy, connected, and learning-focused students and communities.

As a recent hire to the Division, we request your attendance at the upcoming DSA New Staff Orientation where you will meet other new professionals also joining the team within the last six months. Our day will begin at 8 a.m. in the Thad Cochran Center, lunch will be provided, and we’ll conclude at 4 p.m. Let us know ASAP if there are dietary needs we should plan to accommodate.

The DSA New Staff Orientation is completely different from the HR orientation you experienced in the initial days with Southern Miss. Our orientation includes a review of Southern Miss’ history, student composition, and traditions as well as an introduction to the Division’s mission, departments, initiatives, and senior leadership team. Special presentations will focus on CliftonStrengths and helpful communication tactics.
