SMAC presents the Kids' drive up Halloween Carnival

Page Content

We are excited to offer an altered kids' carnival this year! We hope you and your family will be able to join us for fun, treats, and even a drive-in movie! There are a few changes to this year's event, so please read below for the new guidelines. If you have any questions, you can reach out to the Advisor, April Broome at 601-266-6974 or april.broomeFREEMississippi

Kid's Halloween Carnival Guidelines:

For everyone: Please do not attend this event if you feel unwell or have any COVID-19 symptoms. We cannot guarantee that those in attendance are free of COVID-19 or other infectious agents.

For the public: we are asking that families remain in their vehicles at all times. The Carnival will be drive-through style with booths around the outer edge where the campus community will be stationed to hand out pre-wrapped goody bags. We do encourage you and your children to dress up! We want this to be as fun for them as possible. Seymour will be there to greet our community and we will have a drive-in movie option in the adjoining parking lot. There will be free popcorn and water available in the movie parking lot. Since all participants must remain in their vehicles, we will bring these items to you. The showing times for the movie are 4:30pm and 6:00pm.

For campus partners: we encourage you to wear costumes! Gloves and masks are required at all times for anyone outside of a vehicle. Items that are being handed out must be pre-wrapped. The current max capacity for outside participant (those out of a vehicle) is 50, therefore, we ask that only one participant from each department/organization be present at your respective table/booth. We cannot have games or interactive features at the tables since the Hattiesburg community is to remain in their vehicles for this event. We do, however, encourage interactions through speaking to the kids, acknowledging their costumes, and encouraging a positive atmosphere.
