PROMOTION AND TENURE

Electronic Submission Process 

Academic Year 2020-2021

The promotion, tenure, and pre-tenure review document submission process has transitioned to an electronic process. The entire dossier will be submitted and reviewed electronically.

Unless a school requires an earlier submission date, the deadline for Tenure and Promotion faculty submissions is Monday, August 31, 2020.  Pre-tenure review school submission deadlines are set at the school level. Contact your school director for the pre-tenure dossier submission deadline.


NOTE: ALL INFORMATION AND SUPPORTING MATERIAL WILL BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY IN PDF FORMAT.

Promotion and Tenure Calendar

Faculty submit promotion (all ranks) and tenure dossiers via online link

Fri, 10-2

Promotion/Tenure Committees submit promotion and tenure recommendations to the School Director

Fri, 10-30

School Directors submit promotion and tenure recommendations to College Committee

Fri, 12-4

College Committee submits promotion and tenure recommendations to the Dean

Mon, 1-11

Pre-tenure review submission deadline via online link

Fri, 1-22

Deans submit tenure stream faculty promotion and tenure decanal recommendations to the UAC

Fri, 2-5

Promotion/Tenure Committees submit recommendations for Pre-tenure Review to School Director

Fri, 2-19

UAC submits tenure stream faculty promotion and tenure recommendations to the Provost

Fri, 2-26

School Directors submit recommendations for Pre-tenure Review to the College Committee

Provost submits recommendations to the President

College Committee submits recommendations forPre-tenure Review to the Dean

USM College Tenure and Promotion Documents 

During the first  year of the new college structure, in the absence of newly revised promotion and tenure guidelines for a school, the existing governing documents may be used. For more information, refer to the Unification Policy (Bridge Policy) regarding the revision of evaluation documents.
