Student Counseling ServicesStudent Counseling Services 

Student Counseling Services is a free and confidential mental health care service provided to students who are currently enrolled at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Services included: Individual and group therapy, crisis response, referrals to on- and off-campus resources, and education and outreach opportunities

Center for Behavioral HealthCenter for Behavioral Health 

Who we serve: University students, faculty, staff, and the community. Children and adults. Teletherapy and in-person services available.  

Services included but not limited to: Individual and group therapy and psychological assessment for anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, ADHD, developmental concerns, grief, eating concerns, substance use, relationship issues, academic/learning concerns, career counseling, and other common challenges. Appointment required.  

Student Fee: Therapy - $10; Evaluation - $200; Group - $5 

Faculty/Staff Fee: Sliding Scale. Call the CBH to inquire about cost. 

Hours of Operation: Monday & Wednesday: 8:30-5pm | Tuesday & Thursday: 8:30am-8pm | Friday: 8:30am-2:00pm | Select Saturdays: 8:30am-12:30pm

Center for Family TherapyCenter for Family Therapy 

Who we serve: University faculty, staff, students and the community.  Teletherapy and in-person services available.  

Services included but not limited to: Individual, couple and family therapy for anxiety/depression, self-esteem, communication, sexual orientation, relationship concerns, premarital, marital, remarriage, intimacy concerns, parenting, blended families, grief/loss, life transition issues. 

Student Fee: $15 for consultation appointments.  $5 for subsequent therapy appointments. 
Faculty/Staff Fee: $25 for consultation appointments. $15 for subsequent therapy appointments. 

Hours of Operation: While center operation hours vary slightly each semester, evening appointments are available several days each week.  Every effort will be made to schedule the first appointment within a week of the initial contact.

SMRHI is a network of community health centers specializing in primary care, behavioral health, obstetrics/gynecology, optometry, dentistry, and weight management. Fees are on a sliding scale with application.
