Student GroupsWant to Meet People?

It can be hard to make new connections and find other people that are interested in the same things you are. Student Organizations are a great way to get connected with other students with similar (and different!) interests or experiences as you. (If you're not sure which group(s) to join, an LSI Ambassador can help!)

LQBTQ+LGBTQIA+ and Need to Meet People?

LQBTQIA+ and looking to meet people? Join the Genders and Sexualities Alliance. Visit the Prism office. Look for rainbow Allies signs on the doors of Southern Miss faculty and staff to find a safe and welcoming space. Visit the Spectrum Center's event calendar to find out what's happening in the community. And if you're struggling, remember that you can always contact Student Counseling Services or chat 24/7 with a counselor at The Trevor Project.

Volunteer

BoredBored?

The best cure for boredom is to get moving! Check out what's happening on campus with the Southern Miss Events Calendar. Go to a free exercise class at the Payne Center. See what's going on locally at VisitHattiesburg.org. Try a new restaurant. Join a club. Take a stroll around the Hattiesburg Zoo or the Longleaf Trace. See a movie at The Grand or Turtle Creek. Love animals? Spend some quality time volunteering at Southern Pines Animal Shelter. Your life is what you make it: get busy!
