By proudly displaying these flags, we aim to celebrate and honor the rich cultural heritage of our community members while fostering an environment that promotes understanding and respect for all identities. The showcases serve as a reminder of the Union’s commitment to advocating for inclusivity, equity, and diversity.

The Union strives to be the heart of the campus community by creating a welcoming environment that encourages all individuals to connect and engage with one another. Our facilities and services bring the campus and its guests together through a variety of programs and events, providing opportunities to learn from and appreciate one another's unique perspectives.

In promoting a safe learning environment, the Union recognizes the importance of creating an inclusive gathering place where Southern Miss students, faculty, and staff can connect with one another. Through initiatives such as the International Flag and Native American Flag Showcases, we hope to contribute to the development of a campus culture that fosters mutual respect, empathy, and global citizenship.
