Instructions for Scheduling Online
NOTE: You need to disable your pop-up blocker or allow pop-ups from usm.mywconline.com for the appointment windows and online tutoring
module to function properly.
STEP 1: LOG IN OR CREATE AN ACCOUNT |
- Visit usm.mywconline.com.
- Under "Available Schedules," select the Writing Center.
- Sign in using wStudentID#@usm.edu and your Campus ID (SOAR) password.
If you don't already have a WC Online account, you will be directed to a registration
form which you must complete before you are able to view the schedule and make appointments.
STEP 2: CHOOSE DATE, TIME, AND FORMAT |
- Choose a date and time by clicking on a white (available) appointment slot.
- Complete the appointment form and select "Create Appointment.”
- Both face-to-face and online appointments are available. If you wish to make an online
appointment, you must choose "Yes" to the "Meet Online?" question on the form.
- See instructions below for e-tutoring if you would like to upload your paper and receive comments by email.
STEP 3: COME TO YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT! |
IN-PERSON
Simply come to the Writing Center on the day and time of your appointment and check
in at the front desk.
ONLINE
- On the day and time of your appointment, sign in to usm.mywconline.com.
- Scroll to the day and time you reserved to find your appointment on the scheduler.
- Click on the appointment box to open the appointment form, then click the red "Start
or Join Online Consultation" link. This link will open a Zoom meeting with your tutor.
E-Tutoring
- Sign and in and make a new appointment using the E-Tutoring option on the appointment
form.
- Upload the document you wish to receive feedback on using the “File Attachments” tool
near the bottom of the form. A file attachment is required in order to save your appointment.
- Writing Center staff will review your document at the scheduled appointment time and
send you feedback shortly after.
- You will receive an email notification when the response is available. Due to time
constraints, we are only available to review one document per appointment.
- Writing Center staff can only review your document for the time allotted for the
appointment. For example, if you schedule a 30-minute appointment for a twenty-page
document, the tutor may only be able to provide feedback on ten pages.
- If a tutor is not able to provide feedback on the entirety of your document, please
schedule another appointment.
