Are you interested in being a part of a growing Esports program? Are you interested in being on the ground floor of building championship contenders in Esports for USM? Here are some of the general expectations for our teams:
- You must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA). You must also be part-time or full-time enrolled in accordance with university standards and certified as eligible via NACE and the NECC each academic year term (fall, spring).
- You must have a clean student conduct record while on the teams, or you will be subject to sanctions from the team in addition to any sanctions authorized under other University policies. Sanctions may include suspension or termination from the Esports programs, or any other lesser sanctions as the coaching staff or Student Affairs may deem appropriate.
- You will plan your schedule accordingly to participate in organized practice sessions throughout the week. These practices will not exceed 20 hours a week and will be organized accordingly as not to impact your overall wellness

The Southern Miss Esports Valorant team, established in Fall 2022, has made significant strides in the competitive scene. In their inaugural year, they participated in two notable collegiate esports leagues: the NACE (National Association of Collegiate Esports) and the NECC (National Esports Collegiate Conference).
During Spring 2023, the team competed in the NECC Navigators Division - Southeast Conference and showcased their skills, ultimately securing the conference championship. This accomplishment highlighted their talent and dedication in the regional competition.
As a result of their conference victory, the Southern Miss Esports Valorant team qualified for the NECC Navigators National Championship. They are currently engaged in the Quarterfinals of the national tournament, where they aim to demonstrate their prowess and compete against top teams from across the country.
While specific details of their performance in the Quarterfinals and potential future achievements are not available, their progression to this stage signifies their position as a competitive force in the NECC Navigators National Championship.

Fall 2023 Recruit Rank Requirement: Immortal 1
The Southern Miss Esports League of Legends team has demonstrated a strong presence in the competitive scene since their participation in Fall 2022. During that season, they competed in the NECC (National Esports Collegiate Conference) and finished as finalists in the Navigators Division, securing the impressive second place in their conference. This achievement showcased their competitive abilities and determination.
In Spring 2023, the team continued their success by participating in the NECC Emergents Division - Southeast Conference. They showcased their skills and dominated the competition, ultimately clinching the conference championship. This victory solidified their position as the top team in the Southeast Conference of the NECC Emergents Division.
As a result of their conference triumph, the Southern Miss Esports League of Legends team qualified for the NECC Emergents National Championship. They are currently in the quarterfinals of the national tournament, where they are competing against other formidable teams from across the country. Their performance in this stage will determine their progression and potential future achievements in the tournament.

The Southern Miss Esports Overwatch 2 team has been actively participating in competitive tournaments, showcasing their skills and dedication to the game. In Fall 2022, they competed in the NACE (National Association of Collegiate Esports) Varsity Premier League. Their participation in this premier league demonstrates their commitment to high-level competition.
Moving on to Spring 2023, the team joined the NECC (National Esports Collegiate Conference) Challengers Division - Atlantic Conference. Throughout the season, they exhibited their talent and determination, ultimately finishing the season as finalists and securing the impressive second place in their conference. This accomplishment solidifies their standing as one of the top teams within the Atlantic Conference of the NECC Challengers Division.

The Southern Miss Esports Rocket League team has been actively involved in competitive tournaments, demonstrating their skills and passion for the game. In Fall 2022, they participated in the NACE (National Association of Collegiate Esports) Open Premier League. Throughout the season, they showcased their abilities and reached the semifinals, finishing as the impressive third-place team in their conference. This achievement highlights their competitive prowess and dedication to the game.
Moving on to Spring 2023, the team competed in the NECC (National Esports Collegiate Conference) Emergents Division - Southeast Conference. Despite facing tough competition, they once again reached the semifinals and secured the third place in their conference. Their consistent performance showcases their ability to consistently compete at a high level.

The Chess team will be making their debut appearance Fall 2023 competing in the NACE Varsity Premier League in connection with Chess.com
The Southern Miss Esports Fortnite Team actively participated in the Spring 2023 season, specifically competing in the Build and No-Build competition as part of the NACE (National Association of Collegiate Esports) Varsity Premier League.
In the NACE National Championship No-Build Competition, the Southern Miss Esports Fortnite team demonstrated their skills and strategies, ultimately securing a position within the top 20 teams in the nation. This accomplishment showcases their ability to compete at a high level in the national championship and highlights their proficiency in Fortnite gameplay.

The Southern Miss Esports Rainbow Six: Siege team has been making waves in the competitive scene with their impressive performances. In Spring 2022, they achieved a significant milestone by winning the NECC Emergents National Championship. This victory demonstrated their exceptional skills and teamwork, solidifying their position as one of the top Rainbow Six: Siege teams in the collegiate esports space.
Moving on to Fall 2022, the team competed in the NACE (National Association of Collegiate Esports) Varsity Premier League. They displayed their prowess by reaching the semifinals, showcasing their ability to compete at a high level in this prestigious league.
In Spring 2023, the team participated in both the Collegiate R6 League and the NACE Varsity Premier League. In the NACE Varsity Premier League, they performed strongly and finished as quarterfinalists, further establishing their standing among competitive teams in the region.

The Southern Miss Esports Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team has been actively participating in competitive tournaments and showcasing their skills. In Fall 2022, they competed in the NACE (National Association of Collegiate Esports) Varsity Premier League and made a playoff appearance.
Moving on to Spring 2023, the team competed in the NACE Varsity Premier East 3 Conference. Their participation in this conference signifies their continued involvement and dedication to the competitive scene.
