The Gilman International Scholarship Program is a nationally competitive scholarship for students who want to study or intern abroad. It is for students who might not otherwise study abroad due to limited financial means. Gilman is administered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs which means that the priority of the student should be to promote a mutual understanding between the United States and another country. | |
What the Award Offers |

Up to $5,000 to help with study abroad costs, such as program fees, tuition, room and board, airfare, and other travel expenses. Students studying critical languages may also qualify for additional funding. | |

Pell grant eligible undergraduates.

The Fulbright UK Summer Institute Program seeks to create cross-cultural understanding by giving American students the opportunity to experience life in the U.K. through the participation at a British University (in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, or Wales) for 3 -4 weeks. Fulbright is administered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs which means that the priority of the student should be to promote a mutual understanding between the United States and the UK. | |

Undergraduates with at least two years of studies left to complete by program-launch.

The Fulbright Student Program is a prestigious award that gives students the opportunity to study, teach, conduct research, and exchange ideas abroad within a partnership of over 140 countries. Fulbright Student Program awards allow students to stay in a host country for approximately 8 months to 1 year (depending on each countries’ fulfillment requirements). Fulbright is administered by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs which means that the priority of the student should be to promote a mutual understanding between the United States and another country. | |
What the Award Offers |

Usually includes travel, cost of living stipend, books and tuition, healthcare, research allowances, enrichment activities, and language enhancement costs. |

Who Should Apply |
|
Fulbright is open to graduate students, young professionals, and artists. The optimal time to apply for the Fulbright Student Program is during the summer of junior year (rising senior). However, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required prior to the project start date.
