Thanks to state assistance and careful management, The University of Southern Mississippi
keeps tuition rates at a very reasonable cost for students. Online students qualify
for in-state tuition, regardless of location. Some instructional fees may apply.

You will find a wide variety of programs and opportunities to help you pay for your education at the Southern Miss School of Music. To explore these options, we recommend the following four steps.
Apply for Admissions. The Graduate School publishes a list of departmental deadlines for admission to help prospective students in their planning. Application materials must be complete by February 1 to receive priority consideration for and Assistantship in the School of Music for the Fall Semester.
Audition. Register for one of our audition days. Have someone at the School of Music if you need to request an alternate audition date.
File FAFSA. if you are interested in federal financial aid, including federal grants and student loans. The USM School of Music Code for FAFSA is 002441. Financial aid application deadlines are listed here, and students who complete their applications by February 1 will receive priority consideration for the Fall semester.
