We coordinate analytical services provided by the USM Division of Marine Science. Most specifically, this means trace element analysis utilizing the division's high resolution inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer (HR-ICP-MS). CETA's ultimate mission is to provide state-of-the-art expertise, training, analytical services, and research in trace chemical analysis.
A unique resource designed to support research, education, and service in the marine sciences by providing technical information for the research staff, resident faculty and students, and visitors. Included are files of abstracts and reprints, books and journals, expedition reports, dissertations, and reference works. Special book collections support the academic program of the Laboratory.
We provide and preserve campus buildings and grounds to promote a safe and enriching environment.
Vessel Operations acts as a nonprofit support center with the goal to provide additional resources to help aid in research, education, and outreach programs along the Gulf Coast.
The Microbiology Laboratory at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory has performed all testing of Mississippi's oyster waters and product for the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR).
