2015 Presidential Award for Excellence

Dr. Betsy Sullivan, Science Education alumna 2011, was selected for the 2015 Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching from the state of Mississippi.

Denise Thibodeaux - MS Science Olympiad Coach

Denise Thibodeaux is a USM alumna, a winning Mississippi Science Olympiad coach, and the 2017 Mississippi Outstanding Biology Teacher of the Year! Denise’s team from Cathedral Academy in Natchez won first place at the Mississippi Science Olympiad at USM in March; she took her first place team to the National Science Olympiad Tournament in Dayton, OH, in May; and won a Lockheed Martin Coaching Excellence Award to attend the Science Olympiad Summer Institute in Phoenix, AZ, in July. She will accept her Biology Teacher of the Year award at the National Association of Biology Teachers Annual Meeting in St. Louis, MO, in November 2017.

Region I Science Fair Teacher's Workshop: October 3rd

The MSEF Region I science fair will be hosting the Teacher's Workshop regarding 2019 science fair projects on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Registration will be available soon on the MSEF website. The workshop will be held on the first floor of Joseph Cook Library on the USM campus in Cook room 123.
