What is the Symposium?
The Undergraduate Symposium on Research and Creative Activity (UGS) at Southern Miss is an annual event that showcases the outstanding work being done by undergraduate students across campus. The event is proudly co-hosted by The Drapeau Center for Undergraduate Research (DCUR) and the Honors College (HC). UGS Presentation and Arts Showcase awards are sponsored by Mr. Donald Drapeau and the Southern Miss Partners for the Arts, respectively.
UGS will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
Student applications for both the Research Presentation portion and the Arts Showcase of UGS are due March 3. Please note that you will need to create a free Submittable account to submit your application(s).
Research Presentation Application
Faculty and postdoctoral fellow judges, graduate student moderators, special guests, and attendees must register by March 10 here.
Undergraduate students must wait until their abstract has been accepted to register. Their registration deadline is March 24.
