The Drapeau Center for Undergraduate Research (DCUR) and the Honors College (HC) are proud to be co-hosting the 2019 Undergraduate Symposium. We hope to see undergraduate students from across campus participate in large numbers as both presenters and attendees.

What is the Symposium?
The Undergraduate Symposium on Research and Creative Activity at Southern Miss is an annual event showcasing the outstanding work being done by undergraduate students across the campus. All faculty, staff, and students can attend the Symposium, and undergraduate students can submit their work to present and compete for cash prizes. In 2016, over 300 people attended the Symposium with 160 students presenting. Check out the list of winners here.
If you have a research project that you have conducted as a student at Southern Miss, this is the opportunity to share your work with your peers. You will learn what it is like to present a paper at a conference, and you can list it on your resume/CV, which is very impressive to both prospective employers and graduate schools. There also is substantial prize money to be won!
Symposium Planning Committee
The planning committee is composed of administrators, faculty, staff, and students from colleges across campus. View the 2018 committee roster.
