2022 Summer Bridge Program

Page Content

Our abbreviated summer bridge program is a 3 day/3 night program for incoming freshmen and transfer students in computer science, computer engineering, or information technology.

The School of CSCE is committed to broadening participation in computing and helping first year minority and female students, who are traditionally under-represented in computing majors, transition successfully to higher education at a four-year institution. The program will consist of a departmental orientation, relationship building, and skills development to promote success in a computing major.

Requirements

There is no fee to apply or participate.  You must be at least 18 years old at the time of the program to participate.

Funding

The CSCE Summer Bridge program is part of the Louis Stokes Mississippi Alliance for Minority Participation and receives funding from the National Science Foundation. Funding is also provided through USM’s STEM Mentoring and Equity for Women Grants.
