About the school
The School of Media and Communication prepares students to create, inspire and inform across diverse fields of communication. With roots stretching back to the earliest days of radio and television at Southern Miss, the school has evolved to include a wide range of mass communication and communication studies.
Our programs combine communication concepts with the technical skills students need to become productive and responsible contributors in their chosen fields. Undergraduate and graduate students study areas ranging from multimedia to strategic communication, with opportunities for online learning and study abroad in the United Kingdom.
Faculty bring significant professional experience in their fields along with advanced academic degrees, with a focus on preparing students to succeed in their chosen careers.
