Admission Procedures


Applications that are complete before the January 10th (for Fall) and Oct 10th (for Spring) will be given preferential consideration. Later applications will be considered if there are available open positions.

Application documents to be submitted:

  1. GRE scores (required by the graduate school)
  2. TOEFL and/or IELTS scores (required by the graduate school)
  3. Official transcripts (required by the graduate school)
  4. Recommendation letters (3) (required by the graduate school)
  5. Statement of purpose (required by the graduate school)
  6. Research Interests (required by the department)
  7. Resume (required by the department)

The Statement of Purpose (SOP) document must address the following aspects (but not limited to); i) motivation to pursue graduate studies in Chemistry and Biochemistry, ii) research interests and past research experience (if any) and, iii) faculty member(s) within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry whose research is of interest and why.  The document must be limited to 1000 words.
